운동장은 많은 사람이 한눈에 바라볼 수 있는 거대한 공공의 표면이다. 나는 이 장소를 메시지를 전달하는 하나의 거대한 광고판처럼 보았고, 라인머신과 석고가루로 바닥 위에 큰 문장을 남겼다. 그 문장은 이미 주어진 방향을 따라 움직이는 우리 자신을 향해, 누군가의 말을 빌려 건넨 메시지였다. 전시장 안이 아닌 일상의 장소에 직접 놓인 이 문장은 다음날 삭제되어 사라졌다
The athletic field is a vast public surface that can be seen at once by many people. I viewed this place as a kind of large billboard for delivering a message, and wrote a large sentence across the ground using a line marking machine and plaster powder. Borrowing someone else’s words, the sentence was directed toward ourselves as we move along paths that already seem to have been set. Placed not inside an exhibition space but directly within an everyday site, the message was erased and disappeared the following day.
